W&B plots step count is double what it's supposed to be. Multiple users have reported this on wandb github.
@glenn-jocher I think this has something to do with the revamp of new logger API. I'll investigate and fix it this week. I'm raising this issue so we don't forget.

🐛 Bug

A clear and concise description of what the bug is.

To Reproduce (REQUIRED)

run python train.py with wandb installed

Expected behavior

The number of steps of panels should be equal to epochs

Requirements

Python>=3.6.0 with all requirements.txt installed including PyTorch>=1.7. To get started:

$ git clone https://github.com/ultralytics/yolov5
$ cd yolov5
$ pip install -r requirements.txt

Environments

YOLOv5 may be run in any of the following up-to-date verified environments (with all dependencies including CUDA/CUDNN, Python and PyTorch preinstalled):

Status

CI CPU testing

If this badge is green, all YOLOv5 GitHub Actions Continuous Integration (CI) tests are currently passing. CI tests verify correct operation of YOLOv5 training (train.py), validation (val.py), inference (detect.py) and export (export.py) on MacOS, Windows, and Ubuntu every 24 hours and on every commit.

@AyushExel thanks for spotting this! I tested W&B logging in the initial loggers refactor PR #4137 and made sure the steps were equal to the epochs, but have not tested since then, so I think if you do a diff from that commit to master the issue should in the diff.

@AyushExel just trained notebook with master for 10 epochs and everything logs correctly:

@glenn-jocher awesome. Thanks, I'll close this issue

@AyushExel ok! I've got 8 models training currently and epochs log correctly as far as I can tell, so this might be a false alarm.
