SMC "publicly not supported issues"

I've been trying to apply a simple fix to my code using SMC, but every time I try to open up a terminal in the src folder or the code itself, I get the error "Opening 'homework4-snigk/src/2016-05-31-211105.term' publicly not yet supported." I've tried accessing the files from multiple locations (home/the UW campus,) but neither seems to work. Are there any known reasons for this issue?
