Source bash file before running debugger

I dont know if this is currently possible, I haven't been able to find it.

My application needs to set a bunch of environment variables, which are all listed in a .sh file which I have to source before running my application. This .sh file set the correct LD_LIBRARY_PATH and other variables and is automatically generated by conan.

It would be nice if it was possible to source a bash file instead of just relying of an envFile for setting environment variables.

There is no easy way to do this, debugger needs to be the the one launching the debuggee, in your scenario it would be the shell.

but this does not seem to do the trick :( What am I doing wrong?

Your method should work, though I would use "env": { "LD_LIBRARY_PATH": ... }.

If you disable env inheritance, you should at least populate PATH and TERM env vars. Most software reacts poorly when these are missing.

@vadimcn thank you very much :) It works now; there was yet another issue that prevented my setup from working. The whole solution now includes envFile, which works quite nicely.

One more quick question from my side: We want to use this nice extension in the company I am working for, and I am required to ask you whether there is any chance that extensions sends code to the internet to a remote server. I am almost 100% certain that this is not the case, but my supervisor mandated me to ask, so here I am.. Can you confirm that CodeLLDB runs locally only? :)
