Does isEmail take into account length?

I believe the standard for emails is to have a length between 5 and 255 chars. Is that taken into account when validating the email address?

Certain parts are checked for length, however it looks like there's a pathological case in #258 that can get around the length checks. I'll deal with the issue in #258.
