Is there a working example of LibASSTextRenderer?

Is there any working example of using LibASSTextRenderer as described in https://www.vidstack.io/docs/player/core-concepts/loading#libass ? I've tried multiple times following the docs and the text never gets displayed, even though the console seems to indicate the renderer is working:
