Configure tools.conf with

[GuestInfo]
exclude-nics=docker*,veth*

Acceptance Criteria:

  • Remove toolbox
  • Use open-vm-tools

Also configure the OVA for host time sync, close any NTP related issues

We should prefer NTP to host time sync; customers like being able to control the timezone for workloads separately from the timezone for the infrastructure.

The ask for this came from field facing staff who noted that they could not run Guest Customization due to toolbox not supporting that.

If we move to open-vm-tools we must add testing to ensure that the OVA continues to function if guest customizations are performed via tools.
