The specs use a lot of antiquated ReSpec syntax require a bit of modernisation. It would be great to update them.

Sure, do you have a doc wrt deprecated stuff? https://respec.org/docs/#deprecated-options seems fairly limited, I guess you're talking about other pieces of syntax.

@caribouW3, yes, sorry for not being clear. Basically, getting rid of as much data-cite= stuff as possible, and using the more modern syntax for linking to things.

Also, it would be great if we could run either prettier or HTML tidy over the specs. That would make them much easier to edit and maintain.... but we would need to figure out some kind of GitHub action that can do that for us also every time we merge a pull request.
