Releases: wavemotion-dave/A7800DS
Version 2.7
Version 2.7.
LCD Screen swap supported.
Support for the latest homebrews.
Minor cleanup on screen scaling.
Use A7800DS.NDS for the DSi and 3DS... the older -LITE version is not fully compatible with all games but runs on the older DS-LITE/PHAT.
Version 2.6
V2.6 : 02-Apr-2021 by wavemotion-dave
- Faster directory/file listing.
- Support for the latest homebrews: Galaxian and Popeye
- Improved scaling and offset handling using L/R + Arrow Keys to match other emulators.
Version 2.5
Version 2.5 - added better .A78 and filename search to identify the game being run and to apply the proper game settings.
The -LITE version is for older DS hardware only with limited game support.
Version 2.4
Version 2.4 - Optimized the bank switching core so that we get full speed on even the biggest games. Just a few holdouts left...
Version 2.3
V2.3 : 6-Jan-2021 by wavemotion-dave
- Fixed large cart support so 512kb games run fine.
- Fixed voice in Frenzy/Berzerk.
- Fixed graphical glitches in Alien Brigade.
- Optmized bank switching so more big games run smoothly.
- Added default difficulty switches for the few games that need them.
- Lots of cleanups as time permitted.
Version 2.2
Including new compatibility table for latest releases (Pac Man Collection XM and Forced TIA and Popeye 2.8 and 2.9). Minor memory updates for additional speed. DS-LITE version updated for better compatibility - many of the non-bank-switching games will run pretty close to full speed on the original DS hardware!
Version 2.1
Version 2.1 with memory improvements using DTCM and VRAM so buffer moves are faster. Creates a 10% speed improvement across the board. Use the normal A7800DS.nds version for DSi and 3DS but for the older DS-LITE and DS-PHAT, you'll have to use the far less complete A7800DS-LITE to get any sort of close approximation of speed.
Version 2.0
Version 2 brings in the new Pokey/TIA sound core which improves sound considerably. Not perfect, but now very listenable. This comes at a cost of emulation speed so please run this on a DSi or 3DS. On the DS-LITE you will have to run the older 1.9 LITE version which has very low compatibility (but the games it runs, will run at close to full speed).
Version 1.9
Version 1.9 with Robotron working in twin-stick mode. Minor cleanup and polish to end the year.
Version 1.8
Version 1.8 with CPU Core improvements and maximum speed on DSi and above. Special DS-LITE version included if you want to try this on older hardware - but be warned, the compatibility is VERY low on the DS-LITE version so only try it with small games (Asteroids, Joust, Centipede, Meteor Shower, Moon Cresta, etc).
Otherwise stick to the normal A7800DS.NDS file for maximum compatibility and speed on the DSi or better hardware.
