Configure run.py to output logs to a standard location in /var/log
Create a dedicated partition for /var/log on test running systems to avoid failures relating to disk space usage
Install and configure logrotate on the systems to manage the log files over time

As of gh-522, application logging is now mediated by Buildbot, so this approach is no longer relevant.
