I hang out in a group called Office Hours that Alex Lindsay started around March 2020. It's free to join and listen in every day (even weekends) starting at 6 AM PST for a pre-show that is in Zoom only(register here https://bit.ly/TheOfficeHours ), They give out a temporary discord link every day at about 6:40 AM PST to join the community discord server (once you joined you are in for good, they are just being cute with scarcity haha). Anyhow the reason I mention this stuff to you is it's full of people doing media production stuff. Mostly it's a group discussion about what to do now/next/better but also lots of practical problem-solving work people are involved in right now. We'd love to see you around sometime if you ever feel like joining up! Also, they are streamed to youtube so you can see what it is like https://www.youtube.com/c/AlexLindsay/videos
In that discord server for Office Hours, I saw a question about using 3D modeling software to 'pre-viz' PTZ camera shots of a theater play/stage. Some folks did a quick mock-up in Maya to experiment with the idea and it seems like a useful way to construct fairly accurate 'shot lists' or storyboards for the play based on a 3D environment you stage. Totally reminded me of Shot Generator and the awesome way you have camera angles that can be generated. I totally respect you building a simple tool that does a specific set of things very well but also really curious about your thoughts on the idea of specific camera sensors/rigging being selectable or configurable in the camera setup area of Shot Generator? The PTZ cameras they were going to use have specific controls etc so I think the interest is in not building the expectation for a shot they can't actually do from a particular place where the camera will be etc. I think a lot of folks are still trying to close the gap between being able to just show up on-site and discuss whatever/test vs having to do almost everything remotely.
Thanks so much for making so rad software and thank you even more for sharing it so generously!
