I'm running Linux/Fedora/KDE/Wayland, and I notice the following behavior with overlays:

  • Clicking into the XIV window where an overlay exists does let me turn the camera, but sometimes it does a weird jerky movement first.
  • Clicking into the XIV window where an overlay exists gives the overlay focus, which prevents keyboard input from going to XIV.

I have attempted using different Window Rules in KDE to prevent focus from getting taken, releasing focus ASAP, but nothing seems to actually work.

Okay, I'm not quite able to reproduce this. I have a Linux/Debian/KDE/Wayland VM, and I can click through an overlay and it sends both keyboard and mouse input to the application behind it (I don't have a machine that can actually play the game, but I'd imagine it should be the same). I don't have any specific window rules.

If you build this project, and run something like stw -F 'monospace:size=24' -A 0.3 ls ~, does that also exhibit the same issue?

Also, can you post your triggevent.log?

With stw I'm not able to actually get it to display anything, but I'll keep messing with it.

I DM'd you a video on Discord showing the issue.
