I wanted to go with OpenCore but my brain broke trying to configure it, I’ll give it a go at a later date. Also, I am no expert in this kind of stuff, I'm just a guy who followed some instructions on the internet.

I used this guide as my starting point Minimal Clover Config and Drivers for Gigabyte Z390 I WIFI : hackintosh

UPDATE (3/12/2019)

I hope things aren't getting too messy in my EFI folder but I will upload a second EFI folder (EFI_USB) which has the changes since I discovered my USB issues. The USB map kext will be included but if you have a wifi/bluetooth card that plugs into on of the USB headers on the motherboard make sure you have it is HS12 otherwise the USBMap.kext I have will turn it off.

Issues

  • Ethernet

    • fixed with RealtekRTL8111.kext
  • Bluetooth/Wifi

    • fixed with one of these
  • Audio

  • Sleep/Shutdown Seems to work Nope, fixed it with the instructions on this page. As it states in the comments, they are not too sure if it is the FakeSMC, EmuVariableUefi-64, HFSPlus-64, and slide=0 boot argument that fixed the issues but seems to work now. Long and short of it is that I had to replace VirtualSMC with FakeSMC.

  • NVRAM

    • Not fixed as of yet
  • USB (3/12/2019)

    • I just realized that I had USB issues I wasn't aware of. I use the guide here to walk me through how to create a map of my USB ports. More below

USB headers I enabled on for my USBMap.kext

  • HS/SS01 left middle pair of ports
  • HS/SS02 right middle pair of ports
  • HS/SS03 left bottom pair of ports
  • HS/SS04 right bottom pair of ports
  • HS/SS05 left top pair of ports
  • HS/SS06 right top pair of ports
  • HS07 (on my case front top right port)
  • HS08 (on my case front top left port)
  • HS12 internal USB 2 header for wifi/bluetooth

This will make more sense if you watch the video I linked above under USB

Comments

If anyone with similar hardware finds this useful, sweet.

While the miminalist guide where I started was pretty sparse with the kexts and .efi file mine seems a bit more messy. To be honest I am not to sure the drivers>bios folder is needed at all but what do I know. It all seems to work so I am happy.

Also, I am just some dude on the internet who followed some instructions I am no expert on any of this shit.
