I can't find this in 2.4.2 from F-Droid, and I would advice making it a default "Off".
- I found out how to turn off covers, but that is very nondescript, and the app doesn't open with the settings, but presents the search first (?)

Don't really know what the ones I added do, but they do (try to) connect when searching. I didn't try it on a clean install, so it might be from podcasts I added.

Not perfect, but a great deal better than what it was.
Chromecasting isn't mentioned.
