This pull request adds new parameters to HTTP API functions, such as how often to retry requests in case of failure and what the request timeout should be. Parameter for tokens is extended for one function. Furthermore, the patch ensures that statistics are recorded on request failure.

This is a requirement for other pull requests.

TODO:

  • Update HTTP functions.
  • Check status of automated tests
  • Ensure PHPDoc comments are up to date for functions added or altered
  • Changelog entry (for VIP) [ Changelog for version 1.3.3 #312 ]
