Youtube feature set

NOTE:

I AM NOT WORKING ON OR IMPROVING ANY FILES FROM YOUTUBE, YOUTUBE VANCED OR ANY OTHER APPLICATIONS, this is just an explanation of what the different features of these applications are and how to use them. I do neither encourege nor discourage the use of these applications, this is just a guide to help people understand what these applications are and how to use them.

What is this Youtube Feature set?

The Youtube feature set is a set of (what I personally think are) must have features that can be used with (most) youtube applications. These features are:

1. Ad blocking
2. In-video Sponsor skipping
3. Picture in picture mode
4. Dislike counter

Mobile applications

Android

1. Revanced Manager - This application makes you able to edit normal apk files, there are lots of applications that you are able to edit, one of them is the youtube application. The YouTube application has all the features that the older Vanced application had/has and more. This application is kept up to date (in comperison to the Vanced application). 2. YouTube Vanced APK - This is the Youtube application made for android, you can install it and go trough the menu, first you will have to install micro-G and login in that application. After that you will be able to install the Youtube Vanced application.This application will have all the features described above. This application is made by a group of people and is open source, you can find the source code here, the application file will be downloaded from the releases page of the repository.

IOS

For ios the best option is uYouPlus. You will be able to install this application trough the altstore.

Mobile Browsers

Note: at this point only firefox allows installs for addons on mobile browsers

Firefox

1. Ublock origin - Ublock origin is an addon that promises to block all ads websites (including youtube).
2. Adguard AdBlocker (optional) - This extension will block trackers and some more pop up ads. This is not necessary for blocking ads on youtube.

Desktop Browsers

The best option for browser users depends on the browser of choice and what kind of features you want. The way this will be installed is going to be using browser extensions for the different browsers that exsist.

Firefox, Librewolf and other gecko based browsers

The extensions for firefox are:

1. uBlock Origin - Ublock origin is an addon that promises to block all ads websites (including youtube).
2. Return Youtube Dislike - This addon does exactly what it says it does, it adds back the youtube dislike counter, so that you will be able to see how many people pressed the dislike/like button
3. Sponsorblock - This addon allows for users to skip in video ads (for example sponsors), its made and kept up with everyone using it, every person can submit any in-video sponsors they encounterd and it will be added to the database of sponsors that can be skipped.

Chrome, Brave, Edge and other chromium based browsers

The extensions for Chrome are:
