Idem is a Machine Learning based face recognition tool that alerts the driver/user whenever he or she is getting drowsy and is unfit to drive. Driver drowsiness accounts for approximately 100,000 accidents per year in the United States alone as reported by The American National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
These instructions will get you a copy of the project up and running on your local machine for development and testing purposes.
In order to run this service you need a RasberryPi 3 and above, along with a RasberryPi Camera 5MP and 0.9inch OLED screen.
This product used ML Firebase Kit by Google, Android Things installed on the RasberryPi.
A step by step series of examples that tell you how to get a development env running:
- Make the connections as shown in the pin diagram(IDEM_Pin_Diagram) to display the output on the OLED Screen.
- Connect the ribbon camera of the piCamera to the RaspberryPi.
- Connect the setting to a 5V power unit.
