Itheum Data Coalition

The Itheum Data Coalition smart contract facilitates the business-relevant processes of Data Coalitions on the Itheum protocol, ensuring compatibility with the PeerMe cryptocompany & DAO platform. This smart contract enables internet-native entities (cryptocompanies, communities, DAOs, etc.) to manage, delegate, and govern data efficiently and securely within the Itheum ecosystem.

Data Providers

Data is the core asset of a Data Coalition, contributed by various data providers. Through the smart contract, data providers can delegate their data NFTs to the Data Coalition, enabling the organization to manage and utilize the data according to the governance policies and agreements.

Governance

Governance within the Data Coalition is conducted by a board, consisting of members with significant stakes locked in the contract. Decisions are made based on a simple majority, with the possibility of specifying alternative governance models on the connected DAO platform. The governance framework is designed to ensure that all decisions reflect the collective will of the coalition's members, promoting transparency and fairness.

Key Features

  • DAO Formation and Management: Streamlines the creation and management of Data Coalition DAOs, including configuration and operational settings.
  • Data NFT Delegation: Facilitates the delegation of data NFTs to the coalition, enabling collective data management and utilization.
  • Stake-Based Governance: Implements a staking mechanism for governance participation, requiring board members to lock tokens to partake in decision-making.
  • Flexible Governance Policies: Supports various governance models to accommodate the unique needs and preferences of each DAO.
  • Transparent Access Control: Allows for precise control over who can access and manage delegated data, ensuring data privacy and integrity.

Technical Operations

Initialization

The contract is initialized with the DAO's native token and connected to a Data Aggregator contract to define the foundational operational parameters.

DAO Creation

Users can create new DAOs directly via the contract by specifying essential details such as governance structure and initial data categories.

Stake Management

The contract provides mechanisms for stakeholders to stake, lock, and unlock the native token as per the DAO's governance requirements.

Action Execution

It enables the execution of governance actions and policy updates within the DAO, ensuring compliance with the established governance framework.

License

The smart contract is open-sourced under the MIT License (MIT). For more information, please see the License File.
