Introducing the Blooming Caverns! This update contains Bloom-related wood and blocks along with a new fish: the Angler Fish. These can be found in the new biome found in the Otherside called the Blooming Caverns. Additionally, Crystallized Ambers can now generate with loot inside them and Soul Elytras can boost again! A lot of issues related to Sculk Transmitters were fixed and Sculk Snappers can now sit!

To make it easier for people to customize the mod, there is also a configuration file where you can adjust values of the mod to suit your preference. We also added descriptions for our enchantments and the ability to translate biome names. The full changelog is below:

The New Blooming Caverns Biome

  • added Blooming Caverns biome
    • a new blue and orange themed biome, featuring a lot of vegetation, new blocks, and a new fish
  • added Blooming Sculk Stone
  • added Blooming Moss Block
  • added Blooming Flowers
  • added Glowing Grass
  • added Glowing Roots
  • added Glowing Vines
  • added Bloom Berries
    • can be found on Glowing Vines
    • have a chance to apply Glowing when eaten
  • added Ice Lilies
    • using shears, you can obtain Lily Flowers
  • added Lily Flowers
    • obtained from Ice Lilies and can also be placed in water and back on top of Ice Lilies
  • added Sludge
    • a new entity found in the Blooming Caverns
    • drops Resonarium, which is used to craft Resonarium Plates

Tip

The Blooming Caverns is a cold biome, so you'll find it bordering the Deeplands most commonly.

New Wood Type

  • added Blooming Stem
    • can be found in Blooming Caverns in a snaking-tree-like pattern, much like chorus fruit
    • can be stripped using an axe
  • added Bloom Planks and other wooden blocks
    • crafted from Blooming Stem
  • added Bloom Boats
  • added Potted Blooming Stem
    • place Blooming Stem inside a pot for decoration

Note

Blooming Stems cannot regrow as no saplings exist, so watch your usage of this new wood.

Other New Blocks & Items

  • added Soundproof Glass
    • will block sound from passing through the block, just like wool
  • added Ancient Paintings
  • added fossilized loot to Crystallized Amber
    • some Crystallized Ambers will now generate with loot or a Sculk Leech trapped inside
    • to obtain the item or free the leech, simply break open the block
    • using Silk Touch, you can preserve the contents inside the Amber
  • added Resonarium
    • obtained from Sludges
    • can be crafted into Resonarium Plates using Scutes
  • added Resonarium Plate
    • obtained by combining 4 Resonarium and 4 Scutes
    • used to upgrade Iron armor and tools to Resonarium in a Smithing Table
  • added Resonarium Armor
    • each piece of Resonarium armor will reduce incoming damage by 25%, so a full set negates all damage
    • Resonarium armor will absorb the reduced damage and lose durability much more quickly (similar to Wolf Armor)
    • Resonarium armor cannot be enchanted with Protection and Mending, but can be repaired with Resonarium
  • added Resonarium Sword and Tools
    • equivalent to diamond tools, but shinier and blue-r
  • added Sonorous Staff
    • crafted from the Heart of the Deep and some Soul Crystals and Bones, harness the power of the sonic boom
    • charge up the Sonorous Staff by holding right-click
    • the longer the charge time, the larger the damage and range of the sonic boom
    • a fully charged Sonorous Staff will turn golden
  • re-added Soul Elytra's boost
    • the last implementation was random, but now, you can control and time each boost after a cooldown
  • added the Angler Fish
    • an angry fish which will hunt down anything in water that isn't sculk

Additional Content

  • added Ancient Vases to Ancient Cities
    • this was accidentally removed in a previous update, but vases can generate in Ancient Cities again
  • added a tooltip to Crystallized Amber to show what's inside
  • Resonarium and Warden armors are not trimmable
  • added a tooltip to Warden Boots to show that they dampen vibrations
  • Sculk Transmitters now remember what blocks they were linked to in its tooltip
  • added sitting behavior for Sculk Snappers
    • if you don't want your snappers following you, they can now sit
  • added a keybind to use a Sculk Transmitter in your inventory
  • added crafting recipe for Echo Wood
  • added Warden Upgrade Smithing Template to Ancient Temple secret chests
  • added Noise Complaint advancement
    • obtain the Sonorous Staff

Otherside Dimension Changes

  • added cave formations to the Otherside
  • updated the Otherside's generation to have less open areas

    • the Deeplands and Echoing Forest should now be more common
