Can't get game list
The app sends many web requests at the same time to get games list faster. Some slower computers are loosing tracks of these requests after too many refreshes. So, if the spinner keeps spinning for more than 10 seconds, try refreshing or just restart the app.
Your computer or the app lost track of some web requests, so you will have to restart the app.
If you get a red message "No Internet Connection" followed by an error
Server http://statsapi.web.nhl.com/api/v1/schedule seems down
printed to the console. It means that the app has no access to Internet, but if you do, here some other reasons:
- You did not install your Windows Updates, download .NET 4.5 or install your updates to run NHLGames properly.
- You have an external (third-party) software blocking NHLGames from going online [Malwarebytes, BitDefender, Free AntiVirus]. On Windows 10, Windows Defender and the firewall can be the cause, you probably flag it as a malware yourself by mistake.
- Your computer is loosing Internet connection after leaving sleep mode. Here are the steps to prevent the network adapter to sleep:
- windows start menu
- search for : Power & Sleep Settings
- at the title "Related settings" click on "Additional power settings"
- on the plan selected, click on "Change plan settings"
- click on "Change advanced power settings"
- Wireless Adapter Settings > Power Saving Mode
- remember the previous value then change it for Maximum Performance
You can discuss about it in Discussion QA or on our subreddit /r/nhl_games
