End of year 2 semester project using html, CSS and PHP that intends to bridge the gap between farmers and seed distributor companies. Farmers can order the seed directly to the distribution companies hence eliminating the middle man. With this information the companies can easily provide their products to the farmers. Farmers have the ability to verify whether a packaged seed is from a verified distributor or counterfeit by keying in a verification code. The system also offers agronomy tips to farmers across the country.
To run the project locally the following steps should be followed:
- XAMPP
- Web Browser e.g (Chrome, Firefox etc)
- Download and Install XAMPP:
Visit the XAMPP official website (https://www.apachefriends.org/index.html) and download the appropriate version for your operating system. Follow the installation instructions provided on the website.
- Clone the Repository:

Copy or move the cloned project files into the XAMPP web server directory (typically located in the "htdocs" folder).
- Start Xampp
Launch XAMPP and start the Apache server.
- Access the Project:
Open a web browser and navigate to
http://localhost/Farmer-s-Seed-Distribution-System-main/website.html
Allows the user to login depending on whether they registered as farmers or as a Seed Company
Allows the Farmer to place an order directly to the seed companies of their choice.
The system Provides the farmer with a confirm delivery action button that once when clicked the status changes to delivered and cannot be changed back.
This module aims to educate farmers on the various varieties of seed, the optimum regions for each and the special attributes for all of them.
The Seed Companies portal enables a seed company to add various seeds to their inventory, search seeds using the seed code as the criteria, update and delete seed records and finally view current customer orders.
This allows the seed companies to update the system with their current seed inventory
This allows each of the seed companies to view their respective orders and status of each order whether delivered or not
