Walkthrough
Welcome to the Steam-Games-Branch-Manager wiki!
Got tired of manually creating game copies and setting up symlinks for different game branches. So I took this weekend and made an app
First you Input the Name you want to Set for your game and press the Add Game Button
Then you select the game folder from the common dir.
Then you select the .acf file for the game from the steamapps folder. In order to find the correct one you need to get the steam app id like this
And it will then prepare by Moving the original game folder and acf file into a new folder and making a symlink to it from the there
After that you can input the name of the first branch you want to create and press Create Branch and it will start copying the original branch into the new branches folder.
When it is done copying it will add that branch to the Branches list where you can then select it to change to using that Branch.
You can enable or disable branches by clicking then in the branches list. If no branch is selected it will use the original backup that was made when you added the game.
Selecting a Branch and then Hitting the Delete Button Under the Branches list will delete ONLY that Branch.
Selecting the Delete under the Games list will delete the currently highlighted game including all of the non original branches and then revert it back to the way it was before this program added it.
Now when you are switching a branch from the default beta to a new one.
This will make steam overwrite the acf symlink with a new actual acf file that you will then need to move into your branches folder
after which you will need to toggle that branch off and then back on in this manager for it to recreate the correct symlink.
