Use SPDX license identifier instead of bulky headers #530
Conversation
There exists a nice, consistent way to denote licenses in source files. It's called SPDX and further information is here [1]. This commit migrates the bulky apache-2 license headers with the SPDX short identifier equivalent. [1] https://spdx.org/ids-how Signed-off-by: Eric Brown <[email protected]>
Looks like hacking doesn't support SPDX identifiers until 1.1.1 which isn't released yet (even though this change was add last Sept). |

As I recall, Apache requires this "bulky" header on all files. Does the foundation recognize the SPDX Identifier as a valid substitution?
Which foundation? Apache supports it - http://www.apache.org/foundation/license-faq.html#Apply-My-Software And a fix was added to openstack/hacking openstack/hacking@85cdbdf to support it. |
The hacking library finally released tag 2.0.0 which includes the SPDX support. |
