Stylized title text

The crew of the deep space exploration shuttle Selene are a few months into their return journey through the stars back to Earth. The main character wakes up to loud crashing, his cabin shaking violently. As quickly as everything started, the ship's power shuts down. As systems start back up, the gravity system malfunctions and the ship's AI has gone haywire. As the main character leaves his cabin, he finds the rest of the crew are missing. In order to find out what happened and restore the ship's systems, the player must help the main character reach the cockpit. Selene will feature 10-15 levels, in which the character avoids hazards throughout the ship set by the malfunctioning AI.

The astronaut character is the main character of Selene. The player is able to move left and right, jump, and reverse the level's gravity. The player's main goal is to make it through the damaged compartments of the space ship to reach the cockpit.

Wire static hazard sprite. When the player touches wires, the character will die and the level will reset to the beginning.

NPCs - Sprites coming soon

  • Ship AI (main antagonist): The ship's malfunctioning AI is a visual NPC, speaking to the character through screens in the back wall. The main goal of this NPC is to prevent the main character from reaching the cockpit, using the ship's systems.

  • Laser turrets (environmental hazard, stuck in one place): These turrets shoot lasers in a set pattern. The turret itself is stuck in one place, with some turrets having the ability to rotate the angle of the barrel in order to shoot in multiple places. Contact with the turret does not hurt the player, but contact with the laser shot will result in player death and level reset.

  • Repair drones (environmental hazard, roaming in a set path): These drones function similarly to the Goombas in Mario, they roam a set path bounded by the environment. Contact with the drones results in player death and level reset. The player is unable to kill the drones, they must be avoided.
