This Wiki provides documentation for the SI4T framework.

Project Mission Statement

The aim of SI4T is to create a simple, compact and easy to understand generic framework for integrating SDL Tridion with your (internal, front-end) Web application Search Engine.

We wish to cover 90% of common usage requirements for such integrations with out of the box or configurable functionality, and allow developers to easily extend the framework to customize for particular project requirements. As such the project is concerned with common, simple, reusable usage scenarios.

Basic search indexing functionality should be able to be set up and configured by a developer with reasonable SDL tridion knowledge in any modern* SDL Tridion implementation in a matter of hours

It is worth noting that providing a framework for querying and displaying search results is not part of the scope of this SI4T, as this tends to be very search engine/delivery technology/project requirement specific.

(* modern = SDL Tridion 2011 or later and using modular templating.)
