That sounds troubling 😨

This reminds me of this issue we've had reported on Linux #11874 (comment) but this is the first time I've seen it on Mac.

Do you mind sharing a screen recording of what you've been seeing?
That would improve troubleshooting. What would also help is sharing your Log file.
You can find your log file here:
MacOS: $USER/Library/Application Support/cura//cura.log
