As you may have noticed, Hadoop-BAM has effectively dead-ended (HadoopGenomics/Hadoop-BAM#203).

The community around Hadoop-BAM has moved new development to Disq, even though ADAM developers see it as more sideways than a move forward. See e.g.

On behalf of the entire Big Data Genomics organization, we invite you to collaborate with us on Disq, if not also on ADAM, bdg-formats and the other BDG applications.

Cheers!

Hi @heuermh do you happen to attend ASHG conference this year - if so we can meet today?

Sorry, I am not attending ASHG this year. I wish I was, there are a lot of good talks and posters about the GIAB reference work.

I see now there is already a dependency on Disq, so I may be saying things you already know. By invitation to collaborate I mean I am hoping issues you find make it upstream so that they can be resolved for all of the Genomics on Spark related projects (ADAM etc., GATK4, Databricks, Hammer Lab, etc.).

E.g. I am curious what this workaround might be for
