SmartSim - 1.4
Main changes:
- GTK+2 has been replaced by GTK+3.
- A system for plug-in components has been implemented, allowing SmartSim to be expanded without the need for editing the main application's code.
- Graphics have been improved with a cleaner look.
- Improved reliability in saving and loading projects.
The plug-in system may undergo refinement in the future, and is currently not documented.
A updated manual is yet to be released, but the existing manual is still mostly complete.
SmartSim - 1.2.1
SmartSim v1.2.1
The original public release version.
This release uses Gtk+2, which has since undergone deprecation.
Pre-compiled binaries are available at http://smartsim.org.uk
Features:
Hierarchical Design
SmartSim lets you to create complex circuits by allowing you to create your own custom components and including them in other circuits, as if they were any other built-in component. These larger circuits can then also be included in other circuitry as sub-components.
Interactive Simulation
When you have finished designing your circuit, SmartSim offers an interactive simulation feature, allowing you to control your circuit and explore inside sub-components whilst the circuit is running. SmartSim also allows you to produce logic timing diagrams from your simulation's activity, allowing you to record and analyse your circuits function in detail.
Present Your Work
SmartSim offers the ability to print out or export your circuit designs to PDF, PNG, or SVG. Timing diagrams can also be exported to PDF, PNG, and SVG.
Touch Screen Friendly
SmartSim is almost entirely pointing device operated, making it ideal for use with interactive whiteboards in classrooms, and other touchscreen devices, with minimal dependency on keyboard interaction.
