What is the best way to call images?

Hello all,

Any tips on the best way to call images? I have seen that one can use something like (from the markdown):

![](/content/Images/XXX_2.jpg)

And then use CSS to control these images globally with things like:

  /* Images */
  img {
    border: 1.5px solid #ffffff;
    border-radius: 6px;
    max-width: 22.5%;
  }
  
  figure {
    box-sizing: border-box;
    display: inline-block;
    margin: 0;
    max-width: 100%;
  }
  
  figure img {
    max-height: 500px;
  }  

However, I was wondering if there would be a way to control the images individually. I have tried to use something like the line below, but it does not work (I guess HUGO ignores pure HTML):

<img src="/content/Images/XXX.jpg" alt="XXX" width="500" height="600">

Any help would be appreciated.
