Settings

The first thing you will want to do is open Settings. It will look something like this

Official Servers

If you play on one of the Official Servers of Ark, there is nothing that should need changed here.

Server Owners/Single Player

You will want to find your Game.ini and GameUserSettings.ini files to make this process a lot easier. See below for the typical file locations.

Everyone else

Try to convince your server owner to provide the above files for you. Some will refuse to provide them as they may contain passwords or information they don't want their players to know. If that is your case, please don't get mad at them and ask them for the Breeding, Taming, & Stat Multipliers. The server owner was required to change them or leave them as official and should be able to provide that information for you. If you are still unable to obtain that information, one of us may be able to help you figure out the server multipliers. Do not just guess at them.

INI File Locations

Single Player and Locally Hosted: Steam\SteamApps\common\ARK\ShooterGame\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\ Server Location: Steam\SteamApps\common\ARK\ShooterGame\Saved\Config\WindowsServer\

If you have access to the INI files, drag the Game.ini file onto the Settings window first, then the GameUserSettings.ini file. You can drag it anywhere on the Settings window and it will accept it. It should look like this (if your cursor looks different, there is a possibility that your anti-virus is still not happy with ASB):

Unknown multipliers

If you were unable to obtain the INI files but received the server's multipliers, this part can get a bit tricky.

Singleplayer Settings - Significant Stat, Taming, and Breeding multiplier boosts. On by default for local, single player games. (Default: Unchecked)

Stat-Multipliers - very important

  • WildLevel - Multiplier per wild level added to a stat. (DinoWild)
  • TameLevel - Multiplier per tamed level added to a stat. (DinoLevel)
  • TameAdd - Multiplier to the bonus applied to all creatures after tamed/born. (DinoLevel_Add)
  • TameAff - Multiplier to the bonus applied to the Taming Effectiveness multiplier. (DinoLevel_Affinity)

All stat multipliers are default of 1.0 except health and Damage. Health TameLevel is 0.2, TameAdd is 0.14, and TameAff is 0.44. Damage TameLevel is 0.170, TameAdd is 0.14, and TameAff is 0.44.

Extractor

  • Consider Wild-level steps - If enabled, this will restrict the possible wild levels of stats (typically melee and food) during the extraction process. The value should be set to the difference between the highest and 2nd highest possible wild levels. (Default: Unchecked & 5) Warning: If your server uses a source of creatures other than just taming and breeding, such as a store or admin commands, use this with caution. Any creatures obtained by non-traditional means can still be extracted as a bred creature with this enabled.
  • Allow more than 100% imprinting - Admin commands and the S+ nanny allow creatures to receive more than 100% imprint quality. Enable this if either applies to your server. (Default: Unchecked)

Maximal Levels on Server

  • Max Wild Level - The highest level a Wild Rex will spawn on your server. (Default: 150)
  • Max Tamed Levelups - The number of times you can level up a creature. (Default: 71)
  • Max Graph Level - For graph display only. Recommended 1/3 of the Max Wild Level. (Default: 50). The max level for all the charts in the tool, e.g. the colored bars under the stats, the radar-chart or the colors in the library. If you set the max-graph-level to 10, all numbers of 10 or more are displayed green and have the maximum lenght. If you set the max-graph-level to 1000, levels of 10 are displayed red and have very small bars. This value does only affect the visuals, it doesn't interfere with any calculations, so you can set it to a value that makes the graphs for your library good-looking. Usually it's good to set the value to a third of the max wild level, e.g. on an official server to 50.
  • Max Total Level - What level creatures get auto destroyed on the server. Mostly only affects Official. Recommended 0. (Default: 450)

Taming-Multiplier

  • TamingSpeedMultiplier - How fast a creature tames. Typically shown as 5x Taming (Default: 1)
  • DinoCharacterFoodDrainMultiplier - How fast a creature's food is consumed. Typically not changed. (Default: 1)

Breeding-Multipliers

  • MatingIntervalMultiplier - The amount of time between mating. Lower numbers are typical. (Default: 1)
  • EggHatchSpeedMultiplier - How fast a fertilized egg incubates. Typically shown as 5x Hatching. (Default: 1)
  • BabyMatureSpeedMultiplier - How fast a baby matures. Typically shown as 5x Maturing. (Default: 1)
  • BabyCuddleIntervalMultiplier - The amount of time between imprints. Lower numbers are typical. (Default: 1) (8 Hours)
  • BabyImprintingStatScaleMultiplier - How much the imprint % increases the stat values. (Default: 1) (20%) - VERY IMPORTANT
  • BabyFoodConsumptionSpeedMultiplier - How fast a baby eats food. Typically not changed. (Default: 1)

Event Column - This column is used to quickly change multipliers from what you have already entered to event specific multipliers. This is very useful on the Official Servers when Ark activates the Ark Evolution Event for 2x/3x. There is an Event checkbox in the main program that allows you to toggle between the two quickly.

Multipliers are unknown to you

If you have not been provided any information for your server, we can try our best to help you out. Calculating the exact server multipliers can be a very difficult process (see How-to-find-out-the-stat-multipliers), but we have some experience doing so. Please be prepared to tame some creatures for us and level them as specified. You can also hope that none of the multipliers have been altered and attempt to extract a creature to find out for sure. Be sure to follow along with the next couple of steps.

Save your settings

You won't likely need to read all of that last section, but use it as reference if you're not sure what a setting does. But you're done with the multipliers, and so we don't lose all of that hard work, make sure you click the OK button in the bottom right. If you haven't saved a library file yet, you will be prompted to. Feel free to name it whatever you like and save it wherever you want, but the most common locations are the Desktop or My Documents.
