I just pushed a new branch, gh-pages-2. Since it was originally forked from a theme, it is not possible to directly make a PR. At least, I didn't know how to do it.

Keep in mind that GitHub pages now allows for web pages to be rendered also from docs, without need of a separate branch.

How do you see it?

Ok, I see two ways to proceed:

  1. I delete gh-pages-2, branch a new gh-pages-dev from the current gh-pages and proceed with development there. At some point it will be merged and the webpage updated.
  2. I branch a new new-webpage from master, make a docs folder with a new webpage, and when we are done we switch the build from gh-pages branch to docs folder in the repo setting.

My preference is for 2.

I did 2.

  • Complete both cases.
  • Text in modals should align on the left.
  • Files in examples/amplicon_test should give a nice result by default.
  • Choose a profile picture.
  • Update README in repo root.
  • Add collaborators.
  • Fix/delete copyright note.
  • Resize list items.
  • Link to collaborators list from home page.

Small suggestion for the webpages, similar to what I've been doing in the readme from my with_htslib branch :

  • Badges : Build Status

At least pointing to the places where shorah could be easily obtained from :

  • bioconda : Bioconda package
  • biocontainers : Docker container
