Potential sublineage of BA.2 monitored by the Puerto Rico Public Health Laboratory
Earliest sequence: 2022/03/07 from Puerto Rico
Most recent sequence: 2022/05/03 from UK/Scotland and Canada
Mutation on top of BA.2: ORF1ab:P2287S + S:G257S

UPDATE: 64 additional sequences with the most recent sequences from 5/15/2022 and circulating in additional countries: Australia, Chile, Japan, Portugal and Denmark.

We are also monitoring an additional new potential BA.2.x lineage with S:Q613H, ORF1a:P1054L, ORF8:S69T possibly from Puerto Rico (65 seqs, ~30% in Puerto Rico).

@InfrPopGen @AngieHinrichs @chrisruis could you take a quick look at this? In Puerto Rico we have a low sequencing rate at about ~0.015% of positive cases sequenced. We think this small clade might be significant based on the aforementioned. Thanks.

Thanks @arodzh-sudo We've added this as BA.2.73 to start on the branch with G22331A (S:G257S)
