Give an option to preserve tab characters.
I do not like the automatic conversion into space chars.

I like it being converted to spaces, but we indent by a different number of spaces than the editor does (2 rather than 4) which is awkward.

Issue #534, Issue #2059, Issue #1862, and Issue #2969 are all the same. The first has the most votes.

I would like to have auto-tab working (hit to set standard indentation for the selected lines)

A code editor without automatic code formatting and indentation is so 70ties ;)

And the reason why we moved to WebStorm for all our Dart Projects (even though debugging there is a pain).
