  • Power off solar monitoring module with the switch on the bottom
  • Remove phillips head screws from EchoSolar panel
  • Remove the Ethernet and Zigbee 15.4 USB radio module
  • Remove 4 phillips head screws from the embedded computer module
  • Pull on the bottom two sides of the embedded computer module wiggling back and forth to unseat the 44 pin header from the circuit board
  • Connect a USB A-Type to USB B-type cable from your computer to the embedded computer module to supply power
  • Connect the orange (TX) of the serial cable to pin 8 CONSOLE_RXD on the embedded computer module and the yellow (RX) to pi 7 CONSOLE_TXD
  • Start your serial console program to connect to the Linux command prompt (Linux Minicom or Screen, Windows TeraTerm Pro or Putty, MacOS CoolTerm or MacTERM)

115200 baud rate 8 data bits No parity 1 stop bits No flow control

Linux example:

sudo minicom -D /dev/ttyUSB0 -b 115200
