The Slidinator is a general slide presentation generation framework designed to make it easy to go from various source formats, such as DITA, DocBook, or whatever, into various slide presentation formats, such as PowerPoint (PPTX), Slidey, or whatever.
The Slidinator is based around a generic XML format for slide content, Simple Slide Markup Language, output generators for producing specific presentation formats from Simple Slide ML documents, and XSLT transforms into Simple Slide ML from common XML vocabularies such as DITA and DocBook.
The Simple Slide ML format serves as a "hub" format that separates the concern of mapping content to slide structures from the concern of generating specific slide presentation formats from those slides.
The initial focus of the project is on going from DITA source to PowerPoint PPTX slides, but the general Slidinator framework is neither DITA-specific nor PowerPoint-specific.
To produce PPTX for DITA source, use the [DITA2PPTX](wiki/DITA2PPTX Command Line) command-line application.
Note that the DITA2PPTX transform requires XSLT code from the DITA For Publishers project, 0.9.19RC10 or newer: http://dita4publishers.sourceforge.net deployed to a DITA Open Toolkit installation.
