  1. Minor mods for more-portable compilation order (libraries last) 

    Added trivial Makefile and test image; updated README to suit.

Some systems require libraries to be after the files which require them;
previous compilation order gave undefined reference errors.

Tested on GCC 4.6.3 on Ubuntu 12.04
