Repository States

• Active: the default, if unspecified a repository is in this state.
• Unmaintained: Code is still in a workable state but unsupported and not responding to new issues or accepting any new pull requests.

• Retired: Code should not be used. Approach has been deprecated or folded into another repository. Also has the properties of being unmaintained (per above).

Process to update repository status

1. Prepend a note to the the GitHub repo description:

2. Add a note to the top of the project’s README.md file:

3. Close active issues and pull requests, you can use the following response template:
