Not seeing custom payload in Sentry #121

I'm trying to send custom data with the exception like so:

Raven.captureException(err, {
  tags: {
    foo: "bar"
  },
  customString: "custom stuff",
  customJSON: {details: 123}
});

I can see all of the payload in the ping URL and the event is tagged correctly in Sentry. However, I can't see the customString or customJSON in Sentry 5.4.5. Am I doing something wrong?

I'm interested in this too. Custom payloads are very helpful for debugging.

Use extra. I'm going to clarify the documentation around this.

Raven.captureException(err, {
  tags: {
    foo: "bar"
  },
  extra: {
    customString: "custom stuff",
    customJSON: {details: 123}
  }
});

Note: With this update, canvas is _always_ excluded, unless we opt in by
passing a `getCanvasManager` function to `record()`. We'll provide a way
to do this once we have a fully formed canvas story. For now, this will
reduce bundle size considerably for all SDK users.
