Purpose

The purpose was to gain insight from HfLA volunteers regarding their impressions of the product's design, content, and ease of use. This pilot test of the product also allowed us to establish a baseline for future comparisons.

The main goal of the internal testing was to detect usability problems and make recommendations for further iterations. We wanted to gain insight on several topics:

  • Design
  • Content
  • Ease of use
  • Satisfaction with the product

We also wanted to:

  • Establish a benchmark for future comparison
  • Pilot test the product with volunteers from HfLA in preparation for testing the next iteration of the MVP with 1) individuals who are going through the expungement process and 2) legal professionals who might use the product to assist their clients.

Methods

Type: Usability Testing. Number of participants: 6-8. Duration: 30 minutes. Location: Zoom session.

We had two groups. The first group received general instructions. The second group received general instructions but instead of creating their own personas as they went through the letter, they received a pre-written user profile to test with.
