Are there any pain points from first time users?
- Design:
- Is the overall design conducive to the effective creation of a declaration letter?
- Content:
- Do the prompts help users create personalized responses?
- Does the final product feel like an authentic letter?
- What can be improved upon to make the letter more personal?
Ease of Use examinations:
- Were users able to create a declaration letter using the website?
- Do users have to personally edit or alter the declaration letter?
- Do users run into issues using the website and were they able to overcome those issues?
- Were users able to save the declaration letter in their preferred format?
- What formats do users select for saving and/or downloading the declaration letter?
- How long does it take users to create a declaration letter?
- Do users find the tasks difficult or easy to finish?
- Are users satisfied with the end result (generated declaration letter)?
- How do users feel about creating a Declaration Letter?
- If they are satisfied, what tasks, designs, or usability aspects were satisfactory?
The purpose was to gain insight from HfLA volunteers regarding their impressions of the product's design, content, and ease of use. This pilot test of the product also allowed us to establish a baseline for future comparisons.
The main goal of the internal testing was to detect usability problems and make recommendations for further iterations. We wanted to gain insight on several topics:
- Design
- Content
- Ease of use
- Satisfaction with the product
We also wanted to:
- Establish a benchmark for future comparison
- Pilot test the product with volunteers from HfLA in preparation for testing the next iteration of the MVP with 1) individuals who are going through the expungement process and 2) legal professionals who might use the product to assist their clients.
Type: Usability Testing. Number of participants: 6-8. Duration: 30 minutes. Location: Zoom session.
We had two groups. The first group received general instructions. The second group received general instructions but instead of creating their own personas as they went through the letter, they received a pre-written user profile to test with.
