Debian and other third-party packagers might need or want to patch our sources for a variety of reasons. In those cases, they might also need to override the SOVERSION. * Allow third parties to externally override SOVERSION Debian and other third-party packagers might need or want to patch our sources for a variety of reasons. In those cases, they might also need to override the SOVERSION.
