Description

Now that #5504 has been addressed, we have got azurerm_hpc_cache supported. To complement the use case for hpc cache, we might need to also support storage target for the hpc cache.

Currently hpc cache has two choices of storage target: nfs and blob container. I propose to add two resources for them accordingly.

New or Affected Resource(s)

  • azurerm_hpc_cache_blob_target
  • azurerm_hpc_cache_nfs_target

Potential Terraform Configuration

resource "azurerm_hpc_cache_blob_target" "example" {
  name                 = "examplehpccblobtarget"
  resource_group_name  = "examplerg
  cache_name           = "examplecache"
  storage_container_id = "/xxx"
  namespace_path       = "/blob_storage"
}
resource "azurerm_hpc_cache_nfs_target" "example" {
  name                     = "examplehpcnfstarget"
  resource_group_name      = "examplerg"
  cache_name               = "examplecache"
  host_name                = "1.2.3.4"
  usage_model              = "READ_HEAVY_INFREQ"
  namespace_junction {
    namespace_path = "/nfs/a1"
    nfs_export = "/export/a"
    target_path = "1"
  }
  namespace_junction {
    namespace_path = "/nfs/b"
    nfs_export = "/export/b"
  }
}

This partially address #6014. Once it is merged, I'll go on implementing azurerm_hpc_cache_nfs_target.

This has been released in version 2.4.0 of the provider. Please see the Terraform documentation on provider versioning or reach out if you need any assistance upgrading. As an example:

provider "azurerm" {
    version = "~> 2.4.0"
}
# ... other configuration ...
