I tried this on main/master branch and on 2.0.0 branch.

NOTE: I haven't done a lot of Electron development, but I'm taking a class and running other electron apps.
In particular, this example builds and runs: https://github.com/electron/electron-quick-start.

You have a higher version of Nodejs installed than some of the dependencies will play nice with. I tried doing the same with your version of node and got the same error, went back down to node 16 and it works fine

Josh, thanks for the reply. I used nvm use 16.5.1 and it worked perfectly!
