Equivalent of ESC when hovering on a project name?

Clicking on a project in the sidebar and then pressing esc hides the sidebar. What is the reverse? I've been clicking on focus mode and then exiting focus mode to make it appear again, but I'm assuming that there is a better way? I've seen the Keyboard Shortcuts page that the shortcut for hiding the navigation bar is "Shift +D", but that does nothing my case, so I suppose that "navigation bar" refers to something else?
