HPe-rc is a remote control utility for the Uniden HomePatrol-1 scanner.

This program requires a HomePatrol Scanner with firmware version 2.02 or higher and the optional Extreme Upgrade. A USB connection and working USB Serial Port drivers are also required.
USB Serial Port drivers for Windows systems are available from [Unidan] (http://info.uniden.com/HomePatrol). Windows will also require MSVCR90.DLL, which can be downloaded from [Microsoft] (http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx%20displaylang=en&id=29) if it is not already available on the system. This software has been tested with the Uniden serial driver on Windows 2000, XP and Windows 7 and 8. Linux and other systems will require [Python] (http://www.python.org/) 2.6 or 2.7, and the [pySerial] (http://pyserial.sourceforge.net/) module.
