This theme of draft-08 is re-use and modularity. General topics include:

• How are multiple vocabularies used together
• JSON Schema use within other JSON documents
• What is $ref and how does it work (there are at least three competing views on this)
• How should the desire to fail validation on unexpected properties be implemented, if it should be implemented at all?

While the prior drafts recently expired, work is active and new drafts are expected before the end of the year January (never try to get anything done during the holidays).
