Gut isn't respecting gitignore

I'm not sure if this is a bug or a feature so I'll stick it here.

Gut seems to display untracked files that I have ignored in my .gitignore file. It only appears to be the Composer vendor directory and a couple of others but not everything.

Is there something I'm likely missing?

I've just realised with the exception of Makefile.frag files all the other supposedly untracked files are dot files like .gitignore and .env.

It's strange. It's definitely not a feature.

If it's not private, could you please share your directory layout with me using the command tree for example, as well as your .gitignore? That way, I can try to reproduce the issue on my computer. (If you'd rather not make this information public, feel free to send it to [email protected])

Also, do you have git accessible from your PATH?

I have no idea why this bug exists.
To resolve your issue, can you try to wipe the cache and add everything back to the staging area :

git rm -r --cached .
git add .

Let me know if that solves the problem

Just tried that, no luck unfortunately.

I'm sorry but I can't find any solution for this issue.
After digging through go-git (the library used by gut to interact with repositories), it appears that the files in question are in the staging area while being in the .gitignore, which doesn't make much sense.

As a final attempt, could you please try running git status -u and share the output with me? Thank you.
