Problem Statement

Currently we allow TCPRoute and UDPRoute to attach to use any Service as a backend. The purpose of this task is to add support for ReferenceGrant to add restrictions on this behavior and make it safer.

Prerequisites

Acceptance Criteria

  • ReferenceGrant now supported for UDPRoute
  • ReferenceGrant now supported for TCPRoute
  • conformance tests for ReferenceGrant plugged into test/conformance/

Note that this is now blocked on https://github.com/kubernetes-sigs/blixt/milestone/8, and the work should be done in the upcoming Rust control-plane afterwards.

No longer planning to do this, as upstream will be including the ReferenceGrant functionality in core in a future release instead. We can re-open then.
