I agree that the current way of running the server is not ideal.

Thanks for providing the systemd service file (#277 (comment)), @doronbehar ! I think this would be a good idea to change to something like this in the future. One benefit of the current system is that it is easy to look at the running server with screen. Is something similar possible with systemd?

Yes! As pointed out in #277 (comment) : Using journalctl --unit=linien.service. Adding --follow would show you live the stderr and stdout linien-server prints.

This can be closed too now since 2.0.
