Indeed, looks like a bug made it into .NET 8.0.3 : https://developercommunity.visualstudio.com/t/Visual-Studio-1793-crashes-during-star/10614986 |
This looks like it was fixed in .net 8.0.4 |
@jaimecbernardo, |
Thanks a lot for verifying :) 0.80.1 updated to .NET 8.0.4, which was where the crash was coming from. |
I had the same issues with the Calculator, Terminal, and then PowerToys as described in the start post (except VS). Also on an old dual-core CPU. After auto-updating to 0.80.0 PT crashed at the start. I uninstalled it and reinstalled v. 0.80.0 manually with the same result - crashing at the start. Then I downgraded to v. 0.79.0 and everything worked fine again. Now, after the fix was released with v. 0.80.1, I auto-updated my v. 0.79.0 to this newest version and everything works fine. I don't see problems with PowerToys at the program start or accessing settings. |

Steps to reproduce
PowerToys crash after update by start up and ask for debugger. I had this issue during the last 3 Month with several Microsoft apps like Calculator, WindowsTerminal and VisualStudio after update (all solved already). It looks like the same error is now happening with PowerToys.
