Environment

Windows build number: 10.0.18363.836
PowerToys version: 0.18.0
PowerToy module for which you are reporting the bug (if applicable): PowerToys Run

Steps to reproduce

Press Alt+Space, start to write Spotify, or Chrome, or any other thing (including math operations).

Expected behavior

I should be able to keep writing the name even if the first result is selected. Pressing enter and the up/down arrow keys should still work without having to tab to the results list.

Actual behavior

Every keystroke refreshes the result list, selects the first one and prevents me to keep typing. I always have to shift+tab back to it. Rinse and repeat for every single keystroke.

@bestknighter do you have a screenshot to help us understand it better? This sounds related to #2259

It could be. Here, I made two screen recordings. Pay attention to the text cursor. Every time it disappears it's not me. When it reappears it's me pressing shift+tab. Sometimes I managed to do two key presses before it deselecting the field. If it's not yet that clear, I can do it again using the virtual keyboard.

Different from #2259, mine is always in this state. I don't even need to right click it to make it happen.

Ok, update: I tried right clicking just like in that other issue and it actually made it go back to normal. Right clicking once more made the bug come back.

I am having the exact same issue. I don't know what additional information would help you find the issue, so just let me know if you need anything.

I'm having the same issue. Right-clicking makes no appreciable difference for me.

If this is the same as #2259, we have a hotfix.

I don't know how this could help, but while trying to get Wox plugins to work I restarted PowerToys a couple times, and also toggled the Run module off and on a couple times. After that, for some reason this issue doesn't appear anymore, even after a system reboot. Maybe some of the guys above can test this further.

We just released 0.18.1 which should have this fix included in it. If it doesn't fix it, please comment and we'll reopen.
