Can you add in the Welcome page, a list of favorite projects that the user will set? For example i am working on 3 projects but the recent projects is not helping. I would want to have a panel that i can set my favorites and with a click to open the folder.

Why is the 'Recent' list not helping?

It is not helping me because I primarily code at php, and every support request I receive I open another folder on network location (depending on the server), and the recent list gets filled up with junk that I will rarely open again. So I want, and I guess I am no the only one, a new list that will set my favorites, that will allow me to quickly open a folder without relying on what I've opened before.

@nntantidakis you can try this extension: https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=kruemelkatze.vscode-dashboard#overview

Also, is this issue a duplicate of #30646?

We can track this separately from #30646, although we would probably only implement one, not both.

May be duplicate of #30646 but why pin only one project? I will test the module if it suits me, but i always prefer working without modules that does not interfere with the main UI. So if you can implement it, it would be nice and extremely comfortable for lot of developers that constantly change projects(for bug edits during multiple versions eg without git)

@nntantidakis For large numbers of projects I'd suggest using Ctrl + R, that opens a picker where you can type to filter your recent folders. If you then press Ctrl + Enter (Cmd + Enter on Mac) to open the selected folder, it will open in a new windows instead of the current one (with Enter).
